Our Dance Studio
The Estelle Jones School of Dance in West Hartford has been inspiring dancers for over 50 years! Our students range in ages from 2 years to adult. They study authentic traditional Classical Ballet, Tap and Jazz, learn to strive for personal excellence, and to work as a team. They choose their level of commitment-from one class a week
The Estelle Jones School of Dance in West Hartford has been inspiring dancers for over 50 years! Our students range in ages from 2 years to adult. They study authentic traditional Classical Ballet, Tap and Jazz, learn to strive for personal excellence, and to work as a team. They choose their level of commitment-from one class a week to multiple classes per week. Students enjoy the classical discipline, while having fun expressing themselves creatively. We emphasize teaching proper technique, and provide performance opportunities at our annual show!
Our Instructors
Estelle Jones (Miss Estelle)-Founder
*Created the Estelle Jones School of Dance in 1964
*World class training at the American Ballet Theatre School in NYC
*Studied with the world's leading dancers-Alexandra Danilova; Bronislava Nijinska; Madame Schola; William Dollar; Igor Youskevitch; Leon Danielian
*Introduced Classical Ballet to Central Connecticut State University in 1977
*A scholarship was created in 2006 at CCSU in her honor for aspiring dancers
*Miss Estelle sought to share her gifts and knowledge with the people who would appreciate them for generations to come.
Cathy Triarhos (Miss Cathy)
*Followed in her mother's (Miss Estelle's) footsteps, becoming a teacher's assistant at a young age
*Holds both elementary and special educations certifications
*Has been teaching for over 30 years for the Plymouth Board of Education
*Tested to teach by Dance Master's of America and Dance Teachers' Club of CT
*Keeps up her studies at monthly master classes; at conventions; workshops and at various dance studios in NYC
*Has taught for the Arts in Action Camp in Avon
*Has taught Greek folk dancing to children at the Saint George Greek Orthodox Cathedral
*Miss Cathy's inspiration comes from watching her students excel in every endeavor they pursue.
Emily Camargo (Miss Emily)
*Studied at Estelle Jones School of dance since the age of 7
*Holds both elementary and special education certifications
*Employed as a Special Education Teacher in West Hartford
*Choreograped Legally Blond for Bristow Middle School during the 2017-2018 year
*Miss Emily believes that dancers at the Estelle Jones School of Dance receive the training, passion and love it takes to grow and develop into successful dancers at the Estelle Jones School of Dance.
